We welcome ideas and expressions of interest from members who want to be involved in creating a special event that focusses on a specific topical area. These conferences are typically co-organized between the SMS and a group of local individuals and/or local institutions. Currently, in addition to our annual conference, we hold 2-3 such meetings per year around the globe, which have become very successful forums to link thoughtful practice with insightful scholarship.
